SRS1000T Soil Respiration System

The SRS1000T is a portable and user-friendly solution for measuring soil CO2 and H2O gas exchange. Designed for agronomy, ecology, and environmental researchers, the SRS1000T delivers precise real-time measurements, making it an essential tool for soil respiration studies and carbon flux monitoring.

With a built-in infrared gas analyser (IRGA) and dual water vapour sensors, the SRS1000T ensures high accuracy and repeatability in field and laboratory applications.

Soil chamber & accessories

The SRS1000T includes a two-part soil chamber. The soil collar is inserted into the soil. The chamber head is inserted onto the collar, forming a seal before taking measurements. The chamber head can be transparent or opaque. Multiple soil collars can be inserted across a field.

Additional accessories include:

  • Soil Temperature Probe: Measures soil temperature in real‑time.
  • PAR Sensor: Monitors photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) at the chamber surface.

Applications

The SRS1000 is ideal for a wide range of research applications, including:

  • Soil Carbon Flux Studies: Measure soil respiration to understand carbon cycling.
  • Climate Change Research: Assess CO2 emissions from soil in different environmental conditions.
  • Agronomy and Soil Health: Evaluate soil microbial activity and gas exchange in agricultural fields.
  • Ecosystem Monitoring: Track soil respiration rates across land-use and ecosystems.

Key features

  • High-Precision CO2 and H2O Measurement:
Single IRGA for CO2 analysis and dual water vapour sensors for precise H2O flux measurements.
