How it works
The OS30P+ uses pulse-modulated detection methods to measure chlorophyll fluorescence.
- After dark adaptation, the instrument first determines minimum fluorescence (FO) using a weak modulated light that excites the chlorophyll without initiating photosynthesis.
- A powerful saturation pulse then closes all available photosystem II (PSII) reaction centres, providing maximum fluorescence (FM).
- From these parameters, it calculates important indicators such as FV/FM (maximum quantum efficiency) and FV/FO, sensitive indicators of plant stress.
- The advanced OJIP test further provides detailed stress analysis through a high-resolution fluorescence induction curve.
