The OS30P+ pulse-amplitude modulated Chlorophyll Fluorometer is a handheld instrument designed for rapid assessment of plant physiological status using chlorophyll fluorescence techniques.

Utilizing cutting-edge pulse-modulated fluorescence technology, the OS30P+ precisely measures widely used critical parameters such as FV/FM, FV/FO, and performs comprehensive OJIP analysis to evaluate plant health and stress.

How it works

The OS30P+ uses pulse-modulated detection methods to measure chlorophyll fluorescence.

  • After dark adaptation, the instrument first determines minimum fluorescence (FO) using a weak modulated light that excites the chlorophyll without initiating photosynthesis.
  • A powerful saturation pulse then closes all available photosystem II (PSII) reaction centres, providing maximum fluorescence (FM).
  • From these parameters, it calculates important indicators such as FV/FM (maximum quantum efficiency) and FV/FO, sensitive indicators of plant stress.
  • The advanced OJIP test further provides detailed stress analysis through a high-resolution fluorescence induction curve.
