Atmospheric CO2

Atmospheric CO2Rapidly rising atmospheric CO2 concentration and its potential impact on future climates is an issue of global, economic and political importance. Since the industrial revolution, the atmospheric CO2 concentration has risen from 280ppm to around 380ppm. When investigating the reasons behind this increase, much emphasis is being placed on the long term monitoring of CO2 exchanges between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere. The measurement of these exchanges requires high performance instrumentation that provide both an ultra fast response time (20Hz) and a high level of resolution (0.02ppm). To calculate the total carbon storage of a canopy, researchers often require to know the CO2 concentration over a vertical profile within the canopy. The CPS12 system enables the continuous monitoring of CO2 at up to 24 points. This complete stand-alone system includes data logging, flow control, filtration and analogue inputs for other environmental sensors.
