The new SRS-SD series builds on its predecessor with improved data storage, connectivity, measurement range, portability, microprocessor and other benefits to create a new generation of portable soil respiration systems.
Removable SD cards provide users with a number of advantages over PC cards;
• Inexpensive and widely available, so every user can have their own card. This improves data security, minimizes the risk of deletion, and allows users to work with data while another user has the SRS-SD in the field.
• Available in a range of memory sizes. 64GB cards are now common.
• The card has no back-up battery to replace.
• Ultra-compact and rugged, making them easily portable and robust to extreme field conditions.
• De-facto media for digital storage. Uploading data is easy since SD cards are compatible with most hardware.
USB port.
• Faster and easier downloads for large datasets
• Upload software updates and new features when they become available.
Extended CO2 measurement range. The analyzer showcases the same high resolution and accuracy of the SRS-2000 while measuring 0-3000ppm CO2, compared to 0-2000ppm. This makes the SRS-SD2000 suitable for more applications, larger exchange rates, and bigger soil areas.
New microprocessor improves interface response. The SRS-SD is exceptionally user friendly. The software walks you through every operation with well thought out menu prompts on the LCD display. The most common operations usually are just a single key press. The Getting Started Guide will have new users up and running in less than 20 minutes.
Enhanced graphing. Exciting enhancements to the graphing function and new options when setting up a visual display of their experiment.
Reduced response times and reduced effects of fluctuating background CO2. To ensure long-term measurement stability, the gas analyser carries out an automatic zero during the standard operational cycle. The cycle time has been reduced to significantly improve response time without losing analyser stability.
Gas circuits in the SRS-SD have been redesigned to minimise the affect of fluctuating CO2 concentrations.
The widest range of chambers. The SRS-SD soil chamber features a pressure release valve to ensure accurate soil flux measurements. By replacing the soil chamber with another type of plant leaf chamber, the system can be quickly and easily converted into a fully functioning portable photosynthesis and transpiration measuring system. Using the SRS-SD2000 the temperature inside the standard leaf chamber can be automatically regulated +/- 14oC above and below ambient; the widest temperature range of any Photosynthesis Measurement System. The SRS-SD leaf chamber temperature can also be programmed to track ambient temperature.
The portability of the SRS-SD is further enhanced by the 12V battery and low power-consumption components, which allow continual operation for up to 16 hours. The small batteries are easily changed in the field to further extend the period of operation. This approach is designed to avoid any unplanned return-trips to the lab, and ensures that data collection never need be interrupted, even in remote field sites.
